The U.S. Science and Engineering Festival kicks off this weekend in Washington, D.C. The event, which will feature more than 3,000 hands-on exhibits, experiments, and performances is a great opportunity for students and parents to explore the multitude of fields in science. The STEM Food & Ag Council is looking forward to having representation from the American Society of Plant Biologists, National 4-H Council, National FFA Organization, Soil Science Society of America, United States Department of Agriculture and University of California-Davis.
One goal of the STEM Food & Ag Council is to provide awareness to those making career decisions, a large audience of the Festival, about the exciting, well-paying STEM jobs in food and agriculture. By participating in the Festival, Council members will engage with students, teachers, parents and others directly, and raise the profile of food and agriculture in STEM.
Exposure to science is one of the best ways to get students engaged and interested. The Council is excited to have our members at the festival with the opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists with their programs and experiments.
